Lee "Scratch" Perry is the Godfather of reggae one of the producers whose mixing board experiments resulted in "dub".
Many consider his production of early Bob Marley recordings to be the purest of Marley's catalog.
Perhaps the reason I relate to him the most is because when the industry started closing in on him to question how he was getting his sound, he burnt "The Black Ark" studio to the ground. Today he resides in Switzerland.
