Jay Evans gave me a lesson in plaster yesterday. Not only plaster repair but also in the appreciation of old aged plaster hiding underneath wall texture and paint. I had to scrape some paint off of a section that had water damage only to find a crazy texture and coloring happening. We were going to accent this wall with William Morris peacock wallpaper but we no longer need it. The plaster decided to do the peacocking for us.
Jay also proved to be an expert on repair. He showed me how to repair the lath work and install wire to hold up the plaster application. This lesson will come in handy as there is loads of plaster to repair in the house.
With the right lighting this room will have the feel of the Napoleon House.
